Individually handcrafted, Featherwood inlays use the contrast of different kinds of wood. No stains or dyes are ever used. A clear finish allows the woods own natural color and character to paint the picture. Through a process traditionally known as double-bevel inlay, pieces are stack-sawn at a slight angle, (see diagram below), so that pieces fit together perfectly, without a seam, or a kerf,
(the void left by the saw blade).
These are not made with veneer,
all wood is 1/4" thick and goes all of the way through.
